Time for Time Management?

Friday, June 3rd, 2005, 8:29 am, by mg.

The older I get the more there is to do. But is it me, or is it the world in general? We seem to have a lot more to do than 10 years ago. More movies, more games, more work, more stuff (just like this journal). I recently took a half day seminar on this issue. It reminded me of things I already knew, and taught me a few more.

First steps: Keeping a journal of my time (not this one), to track how I waste time. Second, I plan on getting to know the people around me, so I can better manage and delegate work—the book Personalties Plus has been recommended; just got in the other day. And, I am testing a software on my PDA called “Life Balance” to help me with lists in categories of areas in my life that are important to better “balance” my time.

What do you do to keep up with it all?

ah prioritising and time management. what a nightmare. I fall into that awful bucket at work where I can’t evenly split my time between operational duties and project work.

Naturally i’d prefer to be 90% project and 10% all else - but somedays - like most days this week - it’s been like 40% projects. And closing-in deadlines are a scary thing.

You’ll have to keep us posted on how the life balance software goes. Good luck with it. (ps: welcome to blogville)
